The Last One

Six years ago today I went on a date with a guy that I knew would someday be my husband. John and I had an instant connection on our first date, I got butterflies in my stomach waiting for him to come pick me up. It was nothing special, we went to Macaroni Grill in Grapevine. Somehow everything seemed to fall into place. I knew by the second date that I was falling for him and could see myself spending my life with him,

Here we are now 6 years later. Finally we are getting married. Tonight was our last anniversary of dating that we will celebrate because July 10, 2011 with mark a new anniversary, the 1st anniversary of our marriage!!

Terrific 3's

So I have decided that 3 year old little girls are so much fun!! Don't get me wrong when Landry was a baby I thought she was pretty great and when she was 1 and 2 was pretty fun too, but three is different. At 3 she has developed such a little personality!! Oh and she is so smart! When I have a 3 year old I can only hope that she is as funny and smart as Landry. I feel so blessed to have this little girl in my life everyday.

Here are some things I love...
Everyday she asks me if she gets to go to dance class!!
When I pick her up from school she gives me all the details of her day.
She can buckle herself into the car seat!!
She can recognize the letters of her name and is close to writing her name completely by herself
She is so excited about my wedding, she tells everyone she is going to be a zebra...
She still loves to snuggle on the couch in the mornings when she wakes up.
She wants every toy that's on TV. I tell her to put it on her Ho-Ho list...Needless to say her Ho-Ho list will probably be about 12 pages long this year!!

Cruisin the Open Seas

I got back from my tour of Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel on Sunday. I just wish the sunny weather had followed me home! We had a really great time and it was a much needed break for me, but I was so ready to be home. You never realize how much you depend on technology unitl you don't have it. I finally had to break down on about day 3 and buy some internet minutes. Here are some pics from our trip!
Warning!! Some of the labels are not where they should be. I messed with this post for almost and hour and figured ya'll were smart and could figure it out!!

Bon Voyage!!

My bags are packed and waiting by the door!! I can't believe it's finally time for our cruise. We leave tomorrow for Galveston and the boat leaves Sunday!! I'll be gone for a whole wonderful week! I'm super excited, but don't like the idea of not having a phone or Internet for a week. It's amazing how much we rely on technology. I feel sure I will have to find the on board computer area at least once to see whats going on!! I'm also feeling nervous about leaving Vegas for a week. I know he will be in good hands with our friends Patti and her daughter Mollie. They have about 5 dogs at their house and he will have fun, but this is the first time I'm leaving my sweet baby with someone other than my mom and dad. If I feel like this now I can't imagine how I'll be when I actually have a child!!

Bon Voyage everyone!! I promise to post pics and updates when I get back!!

Eight Years Ago

Eight years ago today was a Tuesday. I woke up like I did every morning and turned on the TV to watch Good Morning America while I got ready for school. Eight years ago I was a Senior in high school. I put on my IHS cheer uniform because we had to cheer at a volleyball game that night. I was supposed to be at school early that day because I had to roll up the signs in Mrs. Jackson room for the football game against Abilene that Friday night. I didn't make it to school in time to do that...Instead I watched as Diane Sawyer and Charlie Gibson announced that there was a fire in the World Trade Center and that a plane had crashed into it. I remember walking into my mom's room and saying "Someone was flying their plane too low and crashed into a building in New York." . I then watched as another plane flew into the other tower. The world then knew at that moment that it was no accident.

I finally made it to school, my cheer coach forgave me for not making it to pick up signs that morning. Teachers forgave us for alot of things that day. Every classroom you walked by had their TVs on watching the news. We watched the replay of the probably a dozen times as of the second plane crashing and the towers collapsing. I remember for days afterwards there was nothing else on TV except pictures of people still missing and continuous news coverage. There were no planes in the sky for three days. Everyone was in a state of shock and mourning. All activities were cancelled that day. We weren't sure that we were going to get to have a football game on Friday. Finally we were given the go ahead. I remember standing in ISS stadium and everything seemed different that day. The world had changed around me in a matter of seconds. I remember standing there singing the National Anthem that day and it had a new meaning to me. I remember seeing an airplane fly over the stadium as we sang, the first one I had seen in 3 days. Life would go on.....

Let the Planning Begin

So I've been engaged a week now and I'm already getting things going. I'm trying to get as much out of the way as possible so I'm not totally stressed, I usually have a tendency to wait until the last minute.

We think we have the date picked, but it's not set yet. We think our magic date will be July 10. We went and looked at reception venues on Saturday and at one of the places they were actually setting up for a wedding, so it helped visualize it more! I am absolutely in love with the Texas Discovery Gardens in Fair Park, but we are still looking at a couple of more places.

On another note, I leave for my cruise in 4 weeks!! Woo -Hoo!!

I'm Engaged!!!

So the title says it all!! After 5 years of dating John finally proposed to me!! I couldn't have asked for a more special proposal. To some it may seem a little odd, but almost all significant events in my life have taken place at the dance studio.

It started Friday night. Friday is our big dance company day. Almost all of our competition kids have to dance on Friday nights. I had just started teaching my 7 year old competition kids, when Ms. Sandi came to get me out of class. She told me it was one of the teen kids birthday and we had to sing to her because she had to leave early. I didn't think anything about it because we always sing to the kids on their birthdays. When I walked the hall I started to get a little suspicious though because Debbie was guarding one set of doors to the storage hall and when I walked into the classroom my best friends dad had the video camera and all the moms had their cameras. All the kids finished singing the back storage doors started to open and in walked John with a rose and he got down on one knee. I can't tell you what he said, but that didn't seem important at the time!! Everyone in the room started clapping and screaming. The kids were so excited!! I was so happy that they got to witness this special moment with me because they are such an important part of my life!!

Now all the planning begins. We are thinking about getting married sometime next summer. I'm not picky about the date, whatever falls into place!! There are so many things to do. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Finally I something to actually post on this thing other than the mundane happenings of my everyday life!!

Stalking Demi

On July 5 I took some of my dance kids to the Demi Lovato/David Archuleta concert. Our family friend, Patti, had bought the tickets for her daughter and her friends and asked me to take them. When I went to the concert I wasn't really into Demi Lovato, but she ended up being a very talented performer

Demi is from the Grapevine/Colleyville area and actually went to the Jr. high and high school that the Hunter girls attend. After the concert we decided to try and follow the bus. Through modern technology one of the girls was able to find Demi's home address in Colleyville and we started heading to her home thinking we would just see her house and then we would have a good story to tell all their friends. Well low and behold as we get close to her house we see her tour bus and we get in line behind about 4 other cars and follow the bus!! About 4 blocks before her actual street address the bus stops and Demi gets off to take pictures and sign autographs. I have to admit I was acting just like the teens I was escorting running down the street see Demi! Now we have a really good concert story and the parents at the dance studio were calling me and the girls Demi stalkers!!!

July 4th

I know I'm a little late on this posting, but I've been really busy! We had a very relaxing 4th weekend. We spent Friday the 3rd at the Ranger game. This was my first Ranger's game in probably two years. John, my mom, dad and I all went to the game with a couple of families from the dance studio. They now have these seats at home games that are all-you-can eat seats. The seats are usually $40, but they were running a special and the seats were $25 for this game. It included a seat on the home run porch and all-you-can eat hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, peanuts, chicken sandwiches, and soda. Totally worth the ticket price!! The Hunter's were also at the game and I'm attaching a pic of Landry in the really cute 4th of July outfit my mom and I made for her!!

Recital Pics

So I stole a couple of pics from Katherine's blog of Landry and I at recital and the other one is her annual individual pic. Whoever thought you could have a blog that's more about a kid that's not your or a family that's not even blood related!!!

P.S.
Sorry the pics aren't more center, I'm still figuring this thing out and got tired of fooling with it!!

DMDS 26th Recital

Well we managed to pull another recital off! There were a few minor glitches, but for the most part it went well. I wish I had some pics of our hard work, but I really never have time to take any pictures because I run around like a crazy person for the majority of the day. I always love recital, but I have never been as ready for a year to be over as I have this one. I don't know why and I feel bad for saying this, but I just wasn't into it much this year. But the good news is a new summer started today and I have to admit I'm a little bit excited.
Landry danced again this year in the recital and I have to say I think she was the best little dancer.... Sorry to all the other friends in her class who's moms may read this, but you know you all thought your kid was the best too!!! This year was different than last year for her, she seemed to have know a little bit more of what was going on. She talked about dancing on the big stage and wearing her tiger costume all week! She also liked seeing me on stage too!! When I got to her house this morning and she woke up she was still talking about it. She talked alot about her friend Kennedi and wanted to know why Kennedi got to dance in 2 dances and have 2 costumes. I explained that Kennedi was 4 and that next year when she is 4 she can take 3 classes, but the little smarty pants replied" But Kennedi is smaller than me so how can she be older?" I just laughed and told her next year she could do 2 classes. So Katherine if you read this I don't think Bob is going to get his soccer player!!!

Doctor, Doctor

This past weekend was a weekend filled with doctors and hospitals! It started out on Friday morning our friend Jennifer called and said she was taking my dad to the emergency room because he was having chest pains. Luckily it wasn't a heart attack. They ran x-rays and made him stay in the emergency room for 6 hours. It ended up being a stomach virus that hit him really bad, but I think the scare may have been what Dad needed to make him realize it was time to go on a diet and start exercising!!
While this was all going on I had doctors appointment too. I had a really sore stomach and Thursday evening my pelvic area started to swell. I went to the doctor to find out that I had and inflamed stomach muscle from an ab machine at the gym!! They gave me some muscle relaxers and an anti-inflammatory medicine and now I'm on my way back to being normal. The doctor also tried to tell me I need to take it easy and not do anything to strenuous! That has been the tough part. Landry in not exactly the lightest 3 year old on the planet and at the studio we are a week from recital. I've been doing the best I can, but that hasn't been going real well.
Hope everyone is having a great start to summer! I leave for my first mini trip exactly a month from today or 29 days 21 hours and 49 minutes, but who's counting right!!

Hello Summer!!

I can't believe June starts tomorrow!! I'm so ready for summer. Landry and I have already started hanging out in the pool and doing all of our fun summer stuff!! Seriously summer is the best time of my job, where else do you get work and hang out in a pool all day!! The big girls get out of school this week and in some ways I'm ready for them to be home all the time, but those two girl have a tendency to fight alot when they are at home!!
May has been so busy. We finished up dance competitions the first weekend, so dance has been on the down side of the hill for a while. We are now busy getting ready for recital in 2 weeks. We attended two graduations this month. My friend Angela graduated from UNT and my cousin Danielle graduated from high school yesterday. I am so proud of them both!! It was so nice yesterday getting to see my family and spend the day in Tyler, well actually Bullard. I love my family in Tyler, they are truly amazing and I wish I got to see them more often!!
I also managed to book a trip to Vegas for John and I in July. Well be there for the weekend of the 10-12. We are both looking forward to it. Me because I love Las Vegas and John because he has never been. I don't really gamble there, I'm not real good at losing money, but there is always something to do there so you never get bored!! There are 38 days till I go to Vegas, I'm so excited!!
Everyone have a good week and I'll try to post more often so that you know what is going on!! Good night!!

The End of a Long Weekend

The studio had its last competition of the year and let me tell you it was a long one!! The competition actually started Thursday night, but I didn't have to be there. Friday I went to watch some of our kids do duet/trios and solos. We did great! Noah got a first overall on his solo and 2nd overall in the trio. Nash got 5th overall in his trio and we were all so proud of him and Kalei and Kanon because they were the only 9 year old trio to finish in the top 5. The rest of the groups were 11 or 12!!
Saturday was the really good day. Our small teen tap took first overall!! We were so excited. We got in the overalls a couple of other times too. The kids dance so well all week, it was really the best danced all year! They had some tough competition too so their awards were in no way given to them!! I was so proud of all of our Dance Machines Crew Members!!

Life in General

The studio had a competition yesterday and Friday. We did okay, we're kind of having an off year. I know every studio goes through these, but it's been a really long time since we had this much of an off year. I think we are still trying to find our place in Coppell and with the economy in a downward slope it's affecting alot of things. It's really hard when more and more kids at other studios are doing only dance and are taking 20 hours or more a week. We have always been a studio that encouraged our kids to try other things. There is no reason for them not to try things at school, be in the drama club or drill team or be cheerleaders even though it limits the amount of studio time they can have. But on the other hand I don't feel like the majority of the kids that I teach have a drive to be the best. Unlike my friends that I grew up dancing with, we wanted everything to be about dance and competition! Now it's more about trying to be fair and heaven forbid we hurt some kids feelings by not putting them in the same group as one of their friends because they aren't ready. When I was younger and that happened to me, it made me work harder so that I could join them the next year! Yes it hurt alot, but now when I look back on it, the experience only made me try harder and push myself to be the best I could be!
On a quick side note... I'm struggling with some hard decisions right now in alot of areas. I keep asking God for and awnser and I think right now he doesn't even know what to tell me! I can't really go into the details of some of these because I'm not sure who reads this, but it falls into all categories. Just please keep me in your thoughts as I struggle to figure out what needs to be done. If I don't blog before next Sunday, everyone have a wonderful Easter!!

Boring Blog

So I have totally decided I have a boring blog!!Nothing exciting happens in my life, so instead the people that actually read this thing read about my boring, mundane life!! I promise someday I will have something more exciting to blog about. Does anyone even actually read this?
This weekend I'll be in Denton all weekend at UNT judging ADTS Nationals. I will spend all day Friday and Saturday watching solos and giving kids y opinion on their dancing skills!! Let me tell you I see alot of really good along with alot of pretty bad and a whole lot in between. Oh well sometimes I even luck out and get a dance that really makes me wonder what the heck were they thinking!! It then makes me reflect on my own choreography and wonder if some judge thinks the same thing when the see one of my kids dancing. Well everyone have a good weekend and try to have some fun for me while I'm stuck in the world of dancing!

Dining Guilt

Well I have totally blow the diet this week! I forgot how good Braums chocolate shakes were and sundaes. Let me tell you the food was great, but after I get done eating it I feel guilty! I'm dreading going to weigh in on Wednesday because I know my weight will be up and I was so proud of myself for losing those first five pounds. Does this happen to anyone else? I feel like I need to go run 5 miles now because of the one slice of pizza I ate for dinner!

Landry's teeth pics!!

Landry had to have her front tooth pulled today, so Katherine had to get some pictures done before it came out. It took two attempts at the picture place, but Katherine finally got some really cute pics and I had to share with everyone!!

We have recently developed a love for "The Wizard of Oz" and she told me that To-To was in these pictures!

Needless to say I've received this look a few times!

We love bright colors!

Vegas and the Bottle of Glitter

My dog is truly a monster dog!! He is as bad as any two year old. Tonight I came in and he had gotten into a bottle of black glitter. Nothing really big, John had already called to warn me and honestly glitter spread in our house is no big deal. When I got home I grabbed the broom to sweep it up. When I looked at Vegas he was already under the table, hiding with his ears back and shaking scared!!! That crazy dog knew he had done something bad and I didn't have to even say anything!!! It's like when a little kid does something they know they shouldn't be but it's so much fun anyway. I swear this dog is a nut!
He is getting so big. I need to post some pics soon. I hope everyone is having a good Spring Break. Mine so far has been nice, I couldn't have asked for better weather after last week being so crummy!

Vegas and the dog door

Whoo HOo!! Vegas has learned to use the doggy door! Although the only reason he has learned is a sad one. We lost our last Dalmatian last Sunday night. Mickey was 11 years old and lived a happy life, it was hard to see him go. He was the first dog I had ever had since he was a puppy. Mickey has a the back bathroom to himself and that is where the doggy door was. This area was blocked off from the rest of the house so Vegas could only access it when he went outside in the backyard. Now the area is open and Vegas has so much fun going in and out of the door all day. It took him a couple of days to get used to it and the rain didn't help this, but I think he now has the hang of it!

Weight Watchers

I finally lost my first 5 lbs!!! Last night was my weigh in night at Weight Watchers. For the first week in a while I actually really tried and it paid off! I got on the scale and had lost 1.8 lbs this week. I was super excited because this meant I lost my first 5 lbs. This means I only have 15 more lbs. to go before I'm at my goal weight! I know I've been on the program since October, but Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays were too hard to worry about it, so I really decided to go back on it in January. This is the most weigh I've lost since my first week when I lost 4 pounds, but soon gained it back. I have had to try and figure out how it works best for me. The first week I literally had to kill myself and felt miserable having to give up so many things. But now I kind of have found a balance!

2 Hospital visits, a Shopping Trip, and Cold Baseball!!

What a week!! Last Thursday started out as normal, until I got to the studio. Nike had not been feeling well all week and he came home from school with a fever of 99.5. Nothing to really get that excited about, right. Well within a short time it shot up to 102.7 causing him to have a seizure!! Apparently these are more common than any of us had ever thought. It seems your inside body temperature changes faster than your outside temp and your brain doesn't have time to adjust causing a seizure!! Jenn called in a panic ,like any parent would, and they took Nike to Cooks in an ambulance. It ended up he was fine and the next day at the studio we were having to force the kid to sit during class, but by the end of the night he was going nuts and doing flips off the props!!
Saturday night I got to have a girls night with my sister and my mom since I was without a boyfriend for the weekend (he was in Cozumel on a cruise with his mom...). We went shopping and to dinner and actually had a good time. If anyone knows my sister, a shopping trip with her can sometimes not be the most fun!! But it was actually okay!
Baseball season has officially started for Noah. He had his first tournament if Grand Prairie and we all went and sat at the game and froze!! There is something wrong with having to sit at a baseball game wearing multiple layers of clothing and covering myself in blankets!
Monday Nike once again came home with a fever so Jenn took him to the doctor. Ended up now the kid had strep. Tuesday night they were back at Cooks because the poor kid was throwing up all day and had become dehydrated! Poor thing!
Well we have another competition this weekend and hopefully we can make it through the rest of the week without anyone else going to the hospital!!

Again with the Sinuses

I woke up this morning again with a stuffy nose, sore throat, and a headache!! I'm so tired of the sinus stuff. I have had it every other week since Thanksgiving!! I wish it would give me a break....

Valentines Day

I managed to survive the first competition!! The kids did very well! The dances still need some polishing of course, you manage to catch so many things when your not in the cramped dance studio!
Valentines Day was spent at competition. I actually forgot that it was Valentines Day until John called me on the way to competition. Needless to say I've never been big into the holiday. Don't get me wrong I do love to get the cards and flowers and gifts and I think this year I got more candy and flowers than ever. My dad gave me roses on Friday, he does this every year for me, Mom, and Tiff. I truly have an awesome daddy!! John also finally got my hints that I really wanted some flowers too, and when I got home late Saturday night there were some gorgeous coral colored roses for me to enjoy as we ate our romantic dinner of Jack in the Box!!

"No Stress Year!!"

So just a quick post. Not alot has been going on lately. We have our first competition this weekend and for once I'm not stressed about it. Sure I still have about a hundred little things to do, but I decided early on in this year that I was going to stress myself out about these things. I decided I'm not going to stress out over things like the kids not performing the way I want, I figure I've done my part by now. I taught the dance, called extra practices, put the costume together, and have yelled until it hurts trying to make the dance look good! Now it's all up to the kids and if they want to do well they will, and if they don't they don't! Usually at this time of the year I'm snapping at my family and usually have broken down a couple of times, but not this year, it's definatley a no stress year.

Inauguration Day

As I watched todays Presidential Inauguration I realized that I have spent 18 of my 25 years with a Bush in office. When I was born George H.W. Bush was Vice-President with Ronald Reagan in office. Then for 4 years he was President. Finally the past eight years I have seen another Bush in office. That's something to think about to me as I watched George W. go out of office, literally all I have known in my life is a government with a Bush!!
It was so odd watching the events today. Literally one minute George W. Bush was President and then the next it Barack Obama. I can't imagine what it felt like to be Laura and George Bush leaving the home for the past eight years and not coming back. I felt a little bit of excitement and sorrow in my stomach. I have always been a George Bush fan! I can remember going to Ranger games when I was younger and seeing him sit behind the dugout and at the time thinking how cool I thought it was that the President at the time had a son who owned my local baseball team! Then Bush became Governor of Texas and later President and I thought "Wow I used to see him at baseball games!!". I watched at I was a senior in high school as he stood strong for our country as the towers were attacked and I have watched as he has had to take ridicule for a war that has gone longer than expected and for an economy that has flat lined. I think about how tonight for the first time in eight years he will probably sleep well because the weight of the free world has been lifted off his shoulders and past on to someone else.

She's got a New Attitude!!

I've decided that when a girl turns 3 they also get a new attitude!!
Landry has now been 3 for about 2 weeks now and let me tell you is getting sassier each day!! Having 13 year old(Landry's 2nd to oldest sis) and a 3 year old around is about the same! Yesterday poor Lan spent half the day in time out. She kept talking back and having these melt downs. Her oldest sister asked her to pick up her toys yesterday and Landry, who by the way was in time out for something else at the time, preceded to tell Katy "NO! You do it yourself!"Well needless to to say I came around the corner from the bathroom and used her whole name and she picked up her toys!
Then yesterday afternoon at nap time she wouldn't lay down on the bed and take a nap, she kept getting up and playing with Vegas. So I ended up taking Vegas out of the room and I asked her to lay down for about 30 minutes. Well she kept getting up,so needless to say nap time was a total bust yesterday!
Today was a much better day though. I bribed her and told her we could get a special cookie from Cookies in Bloom, which by the way she calls "Cookies in Bloomers".I told one of my friends, Ashley, that she had jinxed us. Ashley watched Landry on Monday sit at the studio at the little desk in the office, quietly eating her apples while all the other kids ran around. Ashley then turned to me and said "She is so good!! I can't believe she sits there so quietly." Well I should have known then the next day Landry's demon side would come out!

Bows,Bow, and More Bows!!

So this weekend is finally almost over!! Not that it hasn't been good, it's just that I had a ton of things to do!
The weekend started Thursday. The cheer groups are going to a competiton next weekend and me being our official "Bow Maker" had 24 bows to do by Friday. The bows were to be just double looped red base then a row of silver sequin and black sequin cloth. Not alot to them right...Well I thought I was really on top of things. I started last week cutting the bases and measuring and cutting the sequins. Well I go to do the first bow and the ribbon was too short!! This meant that all the sequins were too short too!! So Thursday night when I got home from the studio at 10:30 I had to start recutting ribbon and fusing the sequins together in the middle! Thank goodness for wonder under. That night I was up till 4 AM getting at least everything cut and about half the bows made! John woke up a couple of times from his bed on the couch to hear me yelling at the sewing machine because things kept going wrong!
The next morning I was up at 7:30 because I had to take my car into to have the oil changed. Well it ended up not only the oil had to be changed I had to have a whole new front end! Thank goodness for mom and dad, Dad was willing to pay for it! During this time I was still at home sewing, looping, cutting and ironing those dang bows!! Finally at noon I gave up and crashed until I had to pick up my car and go to the studio. That afternoon was dress rehearsal for the cheer groups, I didn't stick around, I was afraid to hear the parents complain about the bows I had stayed up working on for so long. Instead I had to go shopping with my friend Angela for bridesmaid stuff, but I did find out that the parents actually liked my bows!
Man I love pre-competiton season, next week I get to sew fake pockets on 20 pairs of sweat pants and then on to rhinestoning!!
Today was like any normal Sunday, cleaning and doing laundry. I do live such an exciting life I know!! Now I am lying here typing and occasionally catching a glimpse of the Golden Globes waiting to go to bed. Have a great week everyone!

My Girls

This morning my deep slumber was interrupted by my phone ringing. I didn't answer it because I have learned that whatever is usually said on the other end when I first wake up I never remember so I sent it to voice mail and decided if it was really important they would leave a message. To my surprise it was Katherine calling me, which I new had was kind of odd considering that besides probably my own mom, Katherine knows that at 9:00AM on a Saturday morning I am probably sleeping. This is because at least 3 days a week I drive to her house in my pajamas and am usually back asleep on her couch by 8AM.
Well there was a message, but not from Katherine, it was from the Doodle-bug herself. She babbled about something and told me to call her back. Well, when I finally got ahold of them Katherine informed me that they had tears this morning because Landry "needed my Candi"!! It made me laugh so hard, but also made me feel so good!! Landry eventually got on the phone and talked to me for a while and mentioned something about that when I come on Monday to please bring Vegas so he can see her Hello Kitty. Needless to say Landry loves my dog as much as she loves me!!
I love the fact that this little girl misses me as much as I miss her when I don't see her for a week. Now don't get me wrong, I loved having this past week off, but it will be nice to get back into the swing of things next week. I love all of those girls so much, I feel so blessed that their mom and dad let me be apart of their lives everyday!! I feel like I will be so much more prepared for motherhood because I've had them to practice on!! I love the moments I get to spend with them almost being like the cool older sister or aunt who does stuff with them. I love that the middle girls feel like they can talk to me in confidence when needed and that I get to take part in the everyday happenings of their lives. I like to tease them that I'll have at least 3 babysitters whenever I get to that point and that paybacks are going to suck! I love that will probably do some of the things with my kids that I have done with them and then turn around and say with a grin, "Let's not tell your Mom!!". I hate it when I have to discipline the girls for fighting or Landry for doing something she's not supposed to do and I love how the oldest one, Katy, and I have a bond almost like an older sister and a younger sister just without the fighting and annoying nagging years. I love knowing that by the time I have a little girl that she will have 4 great girls to look up to that are all so different that I have had a part in shaping who they are and that Katy, Sydney, Mackenzie, and Landry will all take part in shaping who my daughter will be!!

Here's to 2009!!

Happy New Year to everyone!! I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful night last night. John and I spent thee evening with our friends Matt and Shana. It's becoming our New Years tradition. We keep it very low key.. dinner at Pappadeux and ringing in the New Years just the four of us at their home and on our way home by 12:30. We are so exciting!!
I thought about taking down my tree today, but decided it was too much work for the day. I'm not exactly sure when it will come down, I'm begingin to think I'll just leave it up all year and change out the decorations, that would be ten times easier and I wouldn't have to deal with all the dust that is involved with putting stuff away! I'm so sick of the continous sinus infection, just as I think I'm getting over it I get knocked down by it again!
This is a total change of subject, but I read some of these 13 year olds post on myspace and get really disapointed in some of the language that is used. Everything is F this and F that. I remember when I was 13 the word "butt" had just come into my language and using the word "crap" was a really big deal, the kind of word you never said around your parents because you were afraid you would be grounded if they heard you say it! I just don't get kids these days, Lord knows I wasn't perfect, but at least I didn't make things public to everyone. It's like girls these day just don't care! I know these kids are good kids, but what makes them think it's okay to use words like the F word or other words. I'm to embarrased to even type the F word, much less use it in my everyday language! Oh well, I just wish I could change these things...Okay so I'll get off my soap box now!!
Landry's birthday was really nice. It gave me a chance to use the new video camera I got for Christmas. She had about three little friends there and they had a great time at Chuck E. Cheese, well until the big mouse made his appearance. I was standing with Landry and Kennedi when Chuck came out of his mouse house and they were jumping up and now waving, well that is until Chuck decided to come into the game area!! Landry and Kennedi both ran to their mom's really fast and were freaking out!! It was pretty funny, I love how at that age they are all talk until the character comes near, we had the same experience with Santa this year. Landry was all for talking to Santa at a distance, but if we tried to take the picture it was a no go!! OH well!!

Here's to the old memories of 2008 and the new ones I hope to make!!
